Myanmar

Tea has been an important part of Myanmar’s culture for centuries. It has its roots in Chinese tea and local wild tea bushes. The British influence in the 19th century expanded tea cultivation in Myanmar. Despite setbacks after gaining independence in 1948, efforts are being made to revive the industry and promote Myanmar’s unique flavours and traditional processing methods. Myanmar is known today as a country with beautiful, fragrant, smooth and delicate teas.
