Malawi

In the 20th century, as African countries began to gain their independence from colonial powers, the tea industry experienced significant development. Although Africa is known for its CTC teas (mechanically crushed teas mainly used for tea bags), there has been a growing interest in orthodox specialty teas in recent years. This is thanks to the small tea estates and tea lovers who are experimenting and dispelling the stereotype that African tea can only be black, rich and robust. A few wonderful tea gardens produce a wide variety of beautiful and exquisite teas in all six categories, offering unique floral, fruity, mellow and elegant teas with an unforgettable flavour.
