Nepal

The first tea plants were brought to Nepal from China during the 19th century. Although tea cultivation had already been established in neighbouring countries like India and China, it took some time for the tea industry to develop in Nepal due to its hard historical times. From humble beginnings, the tea industry has flourished and earned a reputation for producing the finest teas in the world. On the slopes of Himalayan mountains, tea farmers grow and then process amazing teas: crisp, fresh, honey-sweet, apricoty and peachy, muscatel, spicy and bright.
