Rose White Tea
Roses have been grown by humans for over 5,000 years, appearing in ancient Persian, Egyptian, Greek and Roman cultures. The Damask Rose is exceptionally rare and precious: it takes roughly 3-4 tons of fresh rose flowers to produce just 1 litre of rose oil, which is why it’s often called liquid gold in herbal and perfumery traditions. To produce 1 kg of dried rose buds, about 4-5 kg of rose flowers need to be harvested. To produce 1 kg of rose petals, about 8-10 kg of rose flowers need to be harvested. Precious flower.
Rose petals are traditionally hand-picked in the early morning hours, when their essential oils are most concentrated and aromatic. Rose petals contain polyphenols and flavonoids, compounds known to help protect cells from oxidative stress. Unlike many flowers, roses have been used for centuries in culinary traditions: from teas and syrups to jams and desserts.
Roses have long been cherished in traditional wellness practices for their gentle, balancing qualities. Rose petals are naturally rich in antioxidants, which help protect the body from oxidative stress and support overall vitality. When enjoyed as a tea, rose is known for its calming and mood-lifting properties, often used to ease stress, quiet the mind and encourage emotional balance.
Rose tea is traditionally valued for supporting digestion, helping to soothe the stomach and promote gentle detoxification. Its naturally cooling nature makes it especially comforting during times of tension or internal heat. Roses are also associated with skin wellness, as their antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties have been linked to a healthy, radiant complexion.
